Sunday
Got up early this morning. Finished prepping the mökki (cottage) for winter. Washed dishes and packed my bags.
My cousin Antti and his father Ville arrived around 10:15AM. Ville always comes to help us close things up..he is the expert. Antti and Ville helped drain the hot water heater, move the porch furniture inside, cover the chimney and remove the pump from the well. I actually recorded much of it on video for future reference.
Antti, Ville and I were on our way to Helsinki in less than an hour. We stopped for coffee on the way. Ville was in a hurry, so I had to add milk and sugar to my coffee. I normally take it black, but apparently I was drinking it too slowly LOL.
Arrived in Malmi (Helsinki) around 1:30PM. Antti went home to clean, then returned later in the afternoon. I had lunch with Raija and Ville.
Antti and Minna picked me up late afternoon. We went shopping at the Jumbo mall, then for a ride through downtown Helsinki.
We went back to their apartment. Watched some TV, including Anthony Bourdain in Finland. Funny stuff! Had some sandwiches, then they dropped me off in Malmi around 10PM.
Stayed up pretty late. E-mailed my mom’s cousin Eeva about visiting her and husband Mauri tomorrow.
