It was a beautiful day in Puumala!
I went with Antti to drop some fish nets in the lake around 8AM. We came back and had some coffee and puuro (porridge).
Antti, Minna, Lotta and I packed a picnic lunch and took a long trip by motorboat on Lake Saimaa. Antti did some fishing along the way but didn’t catch anything.
We went through an old canal that Antti said was hand-dug by Chinese workers several hundred years ago. Found a beautiful spot to stop and have our picnic.
After that, we dropped off Minna and Lotta to pick mushrooms and berries while Antti & I went to pick up a few groceries in the village of Puumala.
Came back to the house and we cooked dinner. We had potatoes and both grilled AND smoked salmon…my fav-o-rite fish! So good!
Later on Antti & I went to do some evening fishing, again no luck. Went to their lakeside sauna, then watched the Tom Hanks movie The Terminal on TV. Went up to bed around 1AM.
