Thursday
Started raining overnight. I got up around 7:30, had breakfast and added some pix to Facebook. Took a shower and washed the dishes.
I went to Kotka with Terttu and her friends. We stopped at Langinkoski, a beautiful spot that was once the summer home of Czar Alexander III of Russia and his family.
Afterwards, we went to see the Karkases. Raimo showed Horst and Doris around Kotka, then dropped them at the Maretarium. Terttu and I had lunch with Raija and Raimo, then went to pick up Horst and Doris.
Harri’s wife Mirja called. She said her mother was doing worse today…she’s battling a lung infection. We went to visit her at the local hospital.
On the way back, we stopped at K-Market in Hamina. Bought some salmon at 6 euros a kilo, plus picked up some beer. We were back in Pihlaja by 5:30PM. I built a fire in the fireplace and cooked some mountain pies.
I was invited to Terttu’s in the evening. My cousin Harri and wife Mirja had arrived, so the 6 of us had some champagne, liquor and a tall bottle of brandy. Lots of talking, singing, dancing and laughing! We all had a wonderful time!
Harri and Mirja stopped at our cottage for a nightcap. We looked at some pictures, they left around 2AM. I finally fell asleep around 3AM. This is what vacation is all about 🙂
