Wednesday
Our flight touched down in Frankfurt about 20 minutes early.
Had to go through passport control and then on to my connecting gate. Fortunately it was in the same terminal, although it really didn’t matter: I had a 5.5 hour layover! But who’s complaining? I was able to use my frequent flyer miles, just had to pay the taxes and fees.
My cousin Antti and his family picked me up at the airport. It was a cloudy and cool evening in Helsinki. Antti dropped his wife Minna and daughter Ella off, then his other daughter Lotta, Antti and I went grocery shopping at Citymarket and Alko.
We came back to Antti’s parent’s house (where I stayed) and had chicken and rice for dinner. Looked at some pictures and watched the Summer Olympics on TV. Finland won their 1st medal of the day!
After Antti and family left, I stayed up for a while. Set up my new Internet stick on my laptop, turned in around 11.
