Thunderstorms overnight. Woke up before 8AM, fetched my GoPro camera, tripod and pie iron from outside and wiped them dry.

Went back to bed and slept til almost 2PM. Our neighbor’s son Jorma called and invited me to go swimming with them (Jorma, his daughter Juuli and her boyfriend Rene). Good thing he called…I would have slept all day!

I assumed we were walking to our local beach but was mistaken. We wound up driving to a lake about 8 kilometers away, near Ravijoki.

Beautiful spot, actually located in an army training area. There used to be buildings here but they were razed decades ago. The foundations remain, many covered in moss…pretty cool! Today was a warm day, so it was nice to cool off in the lake 🙂

Got back to the cottage around 330PM. I was invited over to the neighbors for Finnish pancakes this evening. Cooked dinner (macaroni with beef sauce), washes dishes. Installed our old solar lights and some new solar spotlights, not very bright but neither was the guy that bought them!

I walked over to neighbor Leena’s house around 7. Stopped along the way to set up my GoPro to capture the sunset near my aunt Terttu’s cottage.

Leena, Jorma, Juuli, Rene and I had pancakes in Leena’s grill house. We so-called adults also had some Liisa wine, one of the many gifts my mom Liisa received for her birthday this summer. She left it with Leena and we were only to happy to empty it 🙂

After pancakes, we went in the house, watched a little TV and had a couple drinks.

Returned to our cottage around 10PM. Worked on the computer awhile, watched some more telly and turned in around 1AM.
