Did some yard work, pulled 3 barrels of weeds. Went to Terttu’s cottage for coffee, Merja’s family was there including my Aunt Meeri.
Came back to our cottage and finished up some leftovers for lunch. A little after 4, our group went by two cars to visit my second cousin Risto near Karhula.
We had Finnish pancakes and got a tour of Risto’s home, which is located across the water from a paper-turned-textile plant. Risto’s home was designed by famed Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. I also learned that Risto is the director and member of Kouvola Big Band.
Unfortunately I started feeling ill while visiting Risto and his wife. While the rest of our group went swimming nearby, Terttu and I drove back to Pihlaja. I went straight to bed with flu-like symptoms. Hate getting sick, especially on vacation 🙁
