Saturday
Slept in until around 8. Showered and met everyone for breakfast at 9AM. Pretty decent buffet.
My back was hurting and I hadn’t slept well, so I went back to our room to rest for a couple hours. Harri, Mirja and Tyyne went for a walk and did some shopping.
They returned around noon and we moved our stuff to Mirja and Tyyne’s room. We hung out there for a little while, then took all our bags downstairs to a storage room. From there, we went on another walk to Old Town.
I took lots of pictures as we walked through Tallinn. We stopped at a cafe for a light lunch, then started back to our hotel. Visited some shops and bought some more cheap booze. Picked up our luggage and took it to our bus, then did some more shopping at the harbor.
We boarded the ship, then went to pay for our on-board purchases. I had ordered 4 cases of beer/cider for about 60 euros, less than 1/2 of what it costs in Finland! No wonder Finns love to travel to Tallinn 🙂
Went to have a pre-dinner champagne, then on to the Viking buffet. I had 4…yes 4…plates of fish, bread etc, along with wine and beer. We were all stuffed!
We arrived in Helsinki around 8:30PM, then boarded our bus. The bus wasn’t as full as yesterday, but there were several drunks who kept us entertained.
Got back to Lappeenranta, then took a taxi home. We got in around 1AM and went to bed shortly thereafter. Already looking forward to my next trip to Estonia!
